STUART J. LIEBMAN (sliebman@lqss.com)

Stuart J. Liebman, Senior Principal and Managing Shareholder, has been in practice since 1971, having received his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1970. Mr. Liebman began as Assistant General Counsel for Yellow Cab Company of California and handled many Personal Injury Defense matters throughout the State of California. Since 1972, Mr. Liebman has been in private practice specializing in defense of Personal Injury matters for insurance companies and both private and public entities. He has also handled Coverage cases, complex cases, and large Subrogation matters. Mr. Liebman personally holds an "AV" rating with Martindale-Hubbell and has tried numerous complex cases in all phases of Insurance and Personal Injury Defense.


LANE E. QUIGLEY (lquigley@lqss.com)

Lane E. Quigley is a Principal and has been practicing Personal Injury Defense since his admission to the California State Bar in 1974. Mr. Quigley received his B.A. in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge in 1971, and his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 1974. Mr. Quigley presently handles Construction Defect Litigation, Complex Liability matters, Catastrophic Injury cases and Hazardous Materials Litigation. He has sat as Judge Pro-Tem for the Los Angeles Municipal Court, and as an Arbitrator for the Los Angeles Superior Court. Mr. Quigley appears as a public speaker nationwide, most recently speaking for the State Bar of California's Continuing Education Program providing the defense viewpoint in a six-hour panel discussion on Approaching a Personal Injury Case. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Quigley worked as an editor for a book publisher, and as a radio personality.


JACK L. SHEPPARD (jsheppard@lqqs.com)

Jack L. Sheppard is a Principal of the firm, received his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1976 and his J.D. from the University of West Los Angeles in 1980. Mr. Sheppard was admitted to the California State Bar in 1980. Mr. Sheppard has been engaged in Personal Injury Defense practice since that time, initially as House Counsel for an insurance company for four years and then in private practice. Mr. Sheppard has considerable trial experience and currently handles large exposure cases and Construction Defect Litigation.


SOLOMON SOULEMA (ssoulema@lqss.com)

Solomon Soulema, is a Principal of the firm, working in our Los Angeles Office and specializing in Workers’ Compensation Defense. He has concentrated his practice in the field of Workers’ Compensation since 1979. Mr. Soulema received his B.A. in Political Science in 1972 from California State University, Northridge. He received his J.D. from the University of San Fernando Valley in 1975. He was then admitted to the California State Bar that same year. Mr. Soulema has appeared before most Workers’ Compensation courts in Southern California. He has developed extensive knowledge in the handling and litigation of a wide variety of cases involving complicated medical and legal issues which include cardiac disability, psychiatric disabilities, death claims, stress and strain, continuous trauma claims and claims filed directly against an employer alleging Serious and Willful Misconduct and Employer Discrimination.


JOHN W. EVANS (jevans@lqss.com)

John W. Evans, is a Principal of the firm, attended the University of California, Los Angeles, Class of 1978, and Southwestern University School of Law, where he obtained his J.D. in 1981. While attending law school, Mr. Evans was a member and editor of the Southwestern Law Review. Mr. Evans was admitted to the California State Bar in 1981 and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and all Federal and State courts in the State of California. Mr. Evans specializes in defense of Personal Injury matters for insurance companies, both private and public entities. Mr. Evans also handles complex Coverage cases, law and motion matters and appellate work.


JOHN VALENTINE (jvalentine@lqss.com)

John Valentine received his B.A. in Political Science from California State University at Long Beach in 1981 and received his J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 1992. Mr. Valentine has over 15 years experience advising management in all aspects of labor and employment law including discipline and termination, harassment training and investigations, WARN, wage payment issues and workplace privacy. He also defends companies in wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour lawsuits before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Mr. Valentine also prosecutes and defends misappropriation of trade secret cases. He was co-counsel on the frequently cited appellate court case Gemini Aluminum Corp. v. California Custom Shapes, Inc. (2002) 95 Cal.App.4th 1249, which set the standard for recovering attorneys’ fees for "bad faith" trade secret misappropriation claims under California's enactment of the Uniform Trade Secrets Act.


Kathe R. Moore (kmoore@lqss.com)

Kathe R. Moore attended UCLA and the University of California at Berkeley where she obtained a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies. Ms. Moore obtained her J.D. from the University of San Diego for Law School and was admitted to the California Bar on 12/20/74. Since 1983, Ms. Moore's legal experience has been in the field of Workers' Compensation Law. Initially this practice involved the representation of applicants and lien claimants. Ms. Moore was the trial counsel on the landmark case of Gould v. WCAB. Since 2002, Ms. Moore has been representing the interests of employers, insurers, and TPA’s in workers compensation matters.


Sandra V. Stanfield (sstanfield@lqss.com)

Sandra V. Stanfield attended California State University Northridge where she received a B.A. in English. She began an administrative career at the University of California, Los Angeles as the staff assistant to a faculty committee charged with formulation of campus wide academic policy. Ms. Stanfield left UCLA to pursue her legal studies and received a J.D. from the University of LaVerne, San Fernando Valley, in 1985, where she participated in Moot Court and served as a Law Review contributor and editor. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1985 and has practiced civil law and workers’ compensation law since. Ms. Stanfield has practiced workers’ compensation defense exclusively since 2000.
